stream/listen to shoutcast in a home network
Hello,
I want to stream and listen to shoutcast in my home network, That means that i want to use my own computer to stream the music and that i can listen to it on my other computer that are both not connected to the internet but to each other with a cross wire, i tried looking up some manuals but couldn't find any of them, is this even posible? and so, are there manuals/guides for it how to do it? |

it is possible (am doing it at the moment and as was mentioned in response to your other thread http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=335979).
the main thing is that you need to set the Source which is connected to the DNAS server to be 'private' and / or set publicserver=never in the DNAS's config file. otherwise you just need to get the DNAS installed (basically just needs changing of the passwords if using the example config files - sc_serv_simple.conf is best for what you want with the v2 DNAS), pick a source to use, set the details in that (password, port, lan IP as applicable) and make sure it's set to be private and that should be it. -daz |

I am still stuck,
If there are any manuals or guides i would like a link to those, I changed some of the settings but i have no idea how to receive the signal on my other computer, the radio station is not listed online and i have no idea how to listen to it if it's not there |

the getting started guides are in the docs folder where you installed the DNAS or at http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcast_Broadcaster.
however, in the sc_serv_simple.conf i mentioned above, remove the streamauthhash line, change password and adminpassword to something different and add publicserver=never then as i've no idea what source you're using, you'll have to set that up as needed (if it's the Source DSP then http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/Source_D...v2_DNAS_Server is what you need to follow). then once the DNAS is running (when using sc_serv_simple.conf) and the source is connected, open 127.0.0.1:8000 in your browser and open the stream shown (e.g. stream #1). at the top is a 'listen' link which is what is used to access the stream when not in the Directory e.g. 127.0.0.1:8000/listen.pls?sid=1 on the other machine you'd need to change that to be something like 192.168.2.10:8000/listen.pls?sid=1 (where 192.168.2.10 needs to be replaced with the LAN IP of the machine the DNAS is running on). or just access the example 192.168.2.10:8000 on the other machine and get the link that way. -daz |

you just need to enter the password in the Source DSP as per one of the earlier links i posted - isn't much else i can say as everything you need to do is in the docs and in what i've mentioned (more so in what i've mentioned), now back off to fixing site issues for me.
