The last movie I saw was on my cell phone, it was the remake of Karate Kid. Great high definition quality.

Got "Closed City" from the Redbox Revue... a sorta unknown film about the establishment of the first La Grunta Inn in Maulhattan, MO. It has a funny scene where the main character, Rico, mauls a guy who told him he didn't like his movie.

Don't even rent it. Our local theater only has one title at a time and we had free tickets, so it was that or skip. I should have skipped. Don't forget to live before you die.

saw the last x-men one, pretty good, i wish they hadn't focused on magneto as much though and the wolverine cameo was a bit of a low blow.

The Social Network Loved this movie ...and hated The Character.
But it's smartly done. Well worth a watch on Starz.

Wendy and Lucy
This small movie is on Sundance. The end is heartbreaking. But, sometimes being a "hero" means doing the right thing, even if you lose your best friend. *Four Paws Up* Oh, Lucy is not a Golden...she's just an adorable mutt. Yeah, she's that cute. |

I can understand why someone would like Wendy and Lucy. It wasn't my cup of tea.

^ Yeah...I get that. There are a lot of "Wendys" out there, but, very few with the sense to do the right thing for their dog(who she clearly loves) But the end got me. It really did. And I think Williams performance was exceptional.
And the filmmakers gave Lucy(Lu) her proper credit.

I gave Deathtrap a revisit after a lot of years. The performances of Caine and Reeve are fantastic. Even remembering how most of this worked out, the suspense is still awesome.

I mean to each their own, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion (which for a matter of record, I happen to respect). But I do not agree with you at all on this. This movie, in my opinion, is nothing short of sheer brilliance. It's a plain and simple mind fuck on so many levels (literally). I like movies that do that. I last watched 300 on blu-ray. I'll leave the comments about the movie alone and just comment on the blu-ray (I mean, the movie mindless entertainment at best, just like comic books, from which it was based. What more were you expecting). The blu-ray quality of this movie blew. Fucking grainy to say the least. A very poor show on this one. You are better off with the dvd. Only reason why I bought it was it was $10. I've got a thing; if I can find a blu-ray of a dvd I have for less than $10 I'll buy it. If not, too bad. This one was a bad gamble. |

^ I didn't get invested in The Characters at all. And they are talented. And Cobb's relationship with his wife...I neither accepted the explaination nor after a bit cared. But, the special effects were mind blowing and the idea of "How to plant a seed of change", that I liked. A lot missing for me, though.

Renee and I attempted to watch "It's Complicated" but we couldn't finish it. It just didn't interest us at all. The only reason we had it was because I had ripped it from a family member's dvd a while back.

I got Batman, the 1943 serial at the supermarket of all places. The new Columbia release does not redact the racially charged content like the VHS copies from the 80's.
It talks about a government that wisely sent Japanese Americans off to the internment camp...... oh brother.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_(serial) Very camp. Pretty funny. This is one of the best examples of serials of the day. The only one that I think might have been better is the Crimson Ghost. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Crimson_Ghost Maybe it's just because I used to date a gal that looked like the Crimson Ghost..... especially if you gave her champagne. Watched Battle: Los Angeles and The Rite the other night. Perhaps it was because I heard such negative things about them and thus did not expect too much, but I thought they were entertaining.

Watching Omega Man on Netflix. It's a remake of this Vincent Price film.... the Last Man on Earth...
Omega Man has all that really cool 1971 Technicolor flavor. The cars are big block. The zombies sorta get that Manson family flavor. Makes me want to wear zipper boots and bell bottoms. Charlton Heston had already coined "Get your hands off me you dirty ape!". Anthony Zerbe was a perfect psycho. No OPEC yet. Gas was 35 cents. Cars got 7 mpg. Netflix has Santa Sangre streaming. This movie is about a 10/10 on the weirdometer and an 8/10 of a movie. If you could deal with A Clockwork Orange then this is a movie for you. Very, very weird.

Paranormal Activity 2
Never saw the original or 3. Glad I didn't. This was slow, boring, and not at all scary. It was just a compilation of security cam and handheld cam videos trying to tell a very unoriginal story with little to no talent in the actors, and little or no special effects. It takes the budget feel and annoying camera shake of Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, but with far less content, money, and creativity. I had company that somehow liked it, so it would have been rude to shut it off or leave, so there's a couple hours of my life wasted that I'll never get back. Please don't make the same mistake. I had the same thing happen to me with Prelude to a Kiss. It's typical Meg Ryan where she is trying to make yet another guy, this time Alec Baldwin, queer.

I found Conan the Barbarian buried on a hard drive and started to watch it but didn't make it very far before stopping and deleting. It just couldn't seem to capture my attention.

I never thought Conan was that great either. Watched "Spy Hard". I don't know how I missed this one, but it was pretty funny. Leslie Nielsen as Agent WD40.
One of my favorite bits is nuns with machine guns... "Make em' Holey sisters!". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117723/ 5.5/10 - On Netflix.
