Windows Explorer Right Click Problem
I have Windows XP PRO, SP 2, and have had for years. Recently I installed a trial version of WinAmp. After a couple of days I uninstalled it. A Windows Explorer search finds no files that appear to be associated with the program.
However, when I am in a music folder, select a file and right click, I get several Winamp related entries at the top (see attached WinAMpSmall.pdf file). I can't figure out how to delete these entries. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Harry |

Trial version? Where did you get the copy of Winamp?

Sorry I was not clearer. On 12/7/2011 I downloaded WinAmp Standard (Free Download). I assume it was the most recent version, 5.622, but since the Change log does not have dates attached, I am not sure.
Hope this helps. I wasn't sure I should send this request to the forum, but I could not find any way to contact WinAmp's Technical Support directly. If this request should go to them, let me know how to send them an E-mail. Harry |

Direct contact of Winamp support is mainly for issues with Winamp Pro features. . So, your question is appropriate for the forums.
Odd, usually uninstalling Winamp should take care of the right-click/context menu items.. Have you tried closing Windows and restarting the computer to help ensure changes take place?. If that does not work, I do have a rather ironic suggestion. Try reinstalling Winamp, because you can remove the Winamp right-click/context menu items in Winamp's options.. Then you can uninstall Winamp if you so choose to do so.. After installing Winamp…

Windows Explorer Right Click Problem
Perfect!
I had previously tried rebooting my computer several times, but that had no effect. So I followed your complete instructions, and they worked like a charm. Previously I had used the "Uninstall" on the WinAmp drop down in my Programs menu. This time I went to Control Panel->Add/Remove as you suggested. Is there any difference between these two choices? Thanks so much for your help, Harry |

You're welcome.
![]() AFAIK, as far as Winamp is concerned there is not a difference. However that may be different for computers multi-user accounts. It will also vary form application. When uninstalling through the Add/Remove icon in the Control Panel, specific parameters can be sent to the uninstall program as determined in the entry in the Add/Remove list. |
