AudioCD to WAV problem! Help me please.
I have a large cd collection I've started to rip into Winamp's media library. Gracenote finds all the track info (track numbers, album name, artist, etc.) but once I rip a cd to wav format the album is always titled "Music" (which is the same name used on the folder I've set as the destination folder) and the track numbers don't get copied. However, when I rip a cd to m4a format everything is catelouged nice and neat with the correct album names and track numbers. I hope someone hasn't asked this already and any help would be appreciated, I searched for hours on this topic to no avail. I would really like my files to be WAV...I'm using winamp pro 5.61

wav files don't have any proper form of tagging which is the main reason for what you are seeing. as such there's not much you can do other than:
a) putting up with it if you really must have them as wav files b) making sure the filenames better match the metadata guessing pattern Winamp tries to use c) rip them to a lossless format what supports tagging e.g. flac -daz |

i agree...
first, use 5.623 or whatever is the latest. second, use FLAC. its lossless, uses less space, and is properly taggable, supporting art, RG, etc... PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/ -- BUG #1 = Winamp skips short tracks Wish #1 = Multiple Column Sorting Wish #2 = Add TCMP/Compilation editing |
