Error in Insert
After syncing up my new galaxy nexus to my computer via WinAmp I have about 400 songs which give me Error in Insert messages - primarily "Error in Insert: 80004005", but some "Error in Insert: 80070003" as well.
I have done a lot of searching via google as well as these forums without a lot of success. From what I have managed to learn from a couple older threads on here it appears that most of those errors are probably caused by song/artist names which have special characters that winamp doesn't recognize or the files are too long. In either case, winamp renames them but of course then it doesn't know that those songs should be in certain playlists, nor does it know that the files from the computer have been renamed and thus those errors result.
What I'm looking for is help in the best way to resolve this issue. I could simply place the newly renamed files on my droid into the appropriate playlists and it would work - however I'd still continue to get these errors everytime I synced.
I could also use a program to re-name my files so that they meet winamps criteria and thus won't be changed by the program when I sync and then the errors won't occur. This seems to me to be the best solution but I'm unsure as to how to do this. Has anyone done this before? I have looked into what programs find and it seems that mp3tag, which is free, is often used to do this type of thing but after opening it up there are a lot of settings and I do not know how to proceed.
If anyone has done this before, with whatever program you used, could you explain to me or point me to where I could find a guide/tutorial? Also, where would I find exactly what characters or file naming issues, as well as allowed file lengths, are causing those errors so I can ensure that my newly renamed files match that?
