Winamp not responding

I few versions back this problem started happening and I can't seem to rectify the issue. With some MP3's Winamp will stutter for lengths of time and Winamp will come up as not responding. If I wait long enough most times it will stop it's stuttering and start playing the song normaly but this could carry on for a good 2 or 3 mins maybe longer on some songs. If I double click on an MP3 in windows explorer to play it in Winamp the explorer windows also goes to not responding.
If I play any of these MP3's in WMP or any other Media player for that matter they play normally with no issues.
I'm using the newest version of Winamp Pro and have no extra plugins. I also just did a fresh install of Winamp Pro. I've tried a lot of different settings and have also downloaded other codecs to see if it helps, nothing seems to work. I've treid to google this issue with no results, I'm at a loss and wish to contunue using Winamp but this issue is getting rediculous.
Using Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
