Cell phone chargers standardized.

It looks like in 2011, your cell phone will start to use the micro-usb port as the standard for the charger. That is, unless you use an iphone. They are staying with their connector. It is now 2012, and my Motorola phone is being charged with my Nokia charger.

I wonder if the aftermarket stuff couldn't be hazardous to your device. I'd be a little nervous about plugging a $500 tablet into a cheapo chinese charger.

All of my phones have been using micro usb for some time now - in fact, it seems like almost everything uses micro these days, not just phones.

My Kindle Fire does micro usb, but it takes 14 hours to charge off a USB port. The charger will do it in a couple hours.
Computers, by standard, will only put out .9A. It's ok for charging my iphone if I'm not in a big hurry, but a tablet doesn't really fly. And yet it's a pain in the ass to find a micro usb sync cable in a store that isn't $20-25.

I paid about $9.75 at Walmart. It's not bad considering a sync cable from pretty much any store is about $20.

You guys really don't shop. Yeah you'd give $20 at Radioshack. I just looked. $1.80 on ebay including shipping.
I thought $4 was a lot. Another thing you guys should look at is communist batteries. I get nimh rechargeables from Hong Kong. 10% of them are no good, but at 40 cents a piece for 2AH AA (instead of $2), who cares? motorola has never really been a two connector company, literally all of their phones manufactured use one of the two (or usually) or one active connection types, the thing that makes people think motorola hasn't been pushing for standardized connectors all along is that that mini-usb took so long to phase out and respectively micro-usb to phase in.
I hate everyone, so you don't have to.
