Song ratings to tags

I couldn't find anything on this with a search, so I'll ask.
When using Media Library to set song ratings, is there a way to force WinampML to change the rating stored in the mp3 file tags/properties?

Whenever I change ratings, I get different ratings showing up in the ML, in the Playlist Editor and in the file properties.

How should this work so that I can store my personal song ratings permanently.

preferences -> media library -> library options tab -> advanced library preferences -> check "save ratings to file for compatible formats (default: off)" and then you would need to re-rate any files you have rated in Winamp for the Winamp ratings to be saved into the files.

though if you change the rating outside of Winamp then you would need to re-scan the library for the external changes to be noticed (which can either be done manually or automatically done on a delayed manner if using the watch folders feature).
