Hey, I thought I should mention on here that when you use Ctrl+A to select all the text in the local media search field, it refreshes the files for no reason. It's nothing major, just a small annoyance. That would be cool to get that fixed!

winamp 5.622 crashed
Winamp 5.6 (build 3080 and 3081) German
Clean install, no 3rd-party skins or plugins Language Pack: German Skin: Bento OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) with all MS Updates and Microsoft Security Essentials running Locale: english Problem: I updated Winamp (from the latest stable version before 5.6) by installing the Full version of winamp 5.6 3080. The install process went fine. Now everytime I launch Winamp it crashes. I see most of the Bento skin, except of the media library content which is all dark grey. Then a Windows 7 error dialog box pops up, telling me that Winamp has a problem and no solution could be found. When I close that error box Winamp closes as well. I can't access Winamp anymore. Method of Reproduction: 1. Launch Winamp 2 winamp crashed 3 windows unable to find problem 4currently uninstalled winamp |

k6ln: make sure you're trying to install 5.622 build 3189 as build 3188 showed the exact issue that you're seeing (or even better use the current version from http://nunzioweb.com/daz/jtfe_dev.html).

Stop Button context menu
If you right-click on the very left side of the "Stop" button, you get the context menu of the "Pause" button.

I can reproduce that effect on my system too. I'm using a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. I don't remember what my mouse resolution is. But I would not call it a bug since the pause button is to the left of the stop button and precisely matching the mouse control grid to a graphical control depends on factors beyond Winamp's control. |

classic skins can and often do show part of their different buttons over each other. as classic skins just show a bitmap image and the skin does not control the position of the button, i would say this is working as desired. plus there are a number of off-by-1 issues with the classic skin which have to be kept for legacy reasons (annoying but that's how it is).

Winamp crashes just after new install
Winamp 5.62 Build 3199
Clean install, no 3rd-party skins or plugins Language Pack: none (English - US) Skin: Bug occurs with all of Bento, Winamp Modern and Classic skins OS: Windows XP Professional SP3 Locale: English - US CPU: Intel Pentium 4, 2.60Ghz Memory: 1.25 GB RAM Graphics: nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Sound: SoundMAX Digital Audio Problem: Aftter completing a fresh installation, when trying to launch winamp.exe a message error appears: "winamp.exe - Aplication Error The aplication failed to initialize properly ( 0xc0000034). Click on OK to terminate the application." Method of rerpoduction: 1. Installing a fresh instance of Winamp after prevously uninstalling and deleting older versions. 2. After completing the instalation, the message error appears no matter how many times I repeat the process. *NOTE: The same error occurs when trying to install previous Winamp 5 versions. It seems to work only with the old 2.95 version. I think there might be a problem with the Winamp registry but I can't find the registry key for winamp in the Registry Editor. |

Problem: only playlist window showing when i make winamp the active tab.
-Winamp 5.623 -Winamp Language Pack used : NO -Winamp skin : Classic (bento and modern dont have the bug) -System specs (mobo, cpu, ram) : Asus P5N-D, E8400 @3.00, 4GB RAM -Windows OS, including Service Packs & Locale : Windows XP Pro SP3. not sure about locale. -Video Card, Video Card Drivers version : Nvidia 9800GT, 180.48 -Sound Card, Sound Card Drivers version : emu 1820 latest drivers -DirectX version (start > run > dxdiag) : DX9 1. launch winamp and launch one or more other programs so that the tabs open on the start bar. 2. play a song (bug i think may also happen if nothing is playing) 3. make one of the other programs the active window so that you can only see winamp showing on the start bar. 4. click winamp on the start bar to bring it back to forground so you can see what is happening. 5. quite often only the playlist window reappears and you gotta click winamp on the start bar 3, 4 or 5 times to get it all to reappear. see my 2 screen shots for exactly what is happening: http://img403.imageshack.us/i/winampbug1.jpg/ <-- the bug http://img375.imageshack.us/i/winampbug2.jpg/ <-- its ok here i believe i have been seeing this bug in every version of winamp since 5.5. It didnt seem to excist before then. i also reported this bug nearly a year ago and its still not been fixed. |

is there a reason why this bug still is not being recognized as a bug?
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=335960 it's about winamp always crashing if the albumart is big in a huge library. see thread for all the infos needed including a video of it actually happening. hope this is fixed soon. i hate using iTunes ![]() but at least itunes doesn't crash. |

AV (crash) when adding a URI to the playlist
Winamp 5.623 (Also works with 5.53 IIRC)
Clean install, standard options, no 3rd-party skins or plugins Language Pack: Standard english. Skin: Tried Bento and Classic, both repro. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Memory: 4.0 GB Graphics: Nvidia Quadro FX Problem: Seems Winamp doesn't like this particular URI. Loading it into a playlist (via Add URL or m3u/pls) causes an access violation and crash. Method of reproduction: 1. Start Winamp 2. Add -> URL 3. Paste this in: code: 4. Hit Open. Expected: URL gets added to playlist, and I can play it. Actual: Unhandled exception at 0x61333835 in winamp.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation. Stack is attached. Can provide minidump if wanted - contact me. |

ScrollWheel Hang In Playlist Editor
This problem has existed for a very long time and may be a dup of http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=239886 which is still not fixed so I want to resurrect it.
Winamp 5.623 Clean install, standard options, no 3rd-party skins or plugins Language Pack: Standard english. Skin: Classic repro and repros with other skins OS: Windows XP Pro SP3 Processor: Intel Xeon Quadcore 2.13GHz Memory: 3.0 GB Graphics: Nvidia Quadro FX 1800 Mouse: Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer With Mouse Wheel Here are the steps: 1. http://somafm.com/play/groovesalad and download the groovesalad.pls (playlist file) 2. Open groovesalad.pls in Windows Explorer 3. Show the Playlist editor only (Close the Main Window, EQ, etc...) 4. Collapse the playlist editor 5. Drag playlist editor to the top of display and dock it 6. Click on another application to give it focus 7. Click on playlist editor 8. Scroll Down with the mouse wheel Expected: Scrolls to next item in the playlist Actual: Winamp hangs and Playlist editor stops drawing Normally I don't use Winamp in this fashion but I like to listen to groovesalad all day long. It just happens that occasionally Winamp is given focus without me realizing it and if I use the scroll wheel then I have to kill Winamp and restart it. I use the scroll wheel a lot so this can be somewhat disruptive. |

Winamp 5.623
Clean install, no 3rd-party skins or plugins Language Pack: English Skin: Big Bento OS: Windows 7 Problem: Ok, so I just updated my Winamp to the newest version and I came accross these bugs: 1) (also with older version): after setting Winamp widow to be docked, always on top and auto hide, it actually works, but once in a while (I usually have also opened Opera browser and Eclipse) it got stucked behind all opened windows. Only way to make it "always on top" again is to minimize all windows and click at it...then it works again for some time. 2) described below Method of Reproduction: 1. Big Bento skin 2. Winamp window: docked - top, always on top, auto hide 3. Set hotkey for previous/next song 4. Leave winamp hidden 5. Change song with hotkey - a pop-up window appears (winamp still hidden) 6. Click the pop-up window 7. It opens library at the top of a screen 8. Go with mouse to the top of a screen to show hidden winamp 9. ...watch what happens ![]() 3) Big Bento skin: pop-up window showing which song has started playing stops popping up once in a while. To make it pop again, i had to pause/stop playing, so it would pop, click at it...and it pops up again for some time...again... Hope it helps somehow.. |

possible integer overflow
System
Winamp v5.623 Windows 7 Ultimate x64, fully updated Description There might be an integer overflow in the "MP3 Stream Info Box" after streaming more than 2^31 bytes = 2 GB of data at once. I checked inbetween: with 1.5 GB it was still okay. No crash or similar occured. Output Network received: -2131830878 bytes Expected output Network received: 2163136418 bytes Steps to reproduce 1. Start playing a SHOUTcast online stream. 2. Don't stop for a very long time, stream at least 2 GB of data (took about 50 hours at 96 kbps). 3. Open the "View file info..." box and see the negative signed integer. |

@stromfresser: That will the counter hitting the 32-bit max of a signed 32-bit integer. If it is only in a "information" display and doesn't cause a crash, I doubt you need to worry about it.
You could say it is like the computer trying to count and running out of fingers. |

like Batter Pudding states it's just a UI element though i hit this over the weekend so i'll change in_mp3 to use an unsigned 64-bit integer which should cover off anything people try to use for the time being. only issue is that it means i need to get all translations updated as it's a dual fix since the printf(..) function cannot show the value correctly with the existing %d in the format string - needs %llu.

Removing both Tag Info and Artwork doesn't remove Artwork
I have Winamp 5.623, however I am seeing this bug since many years but wondering why anyone haven't reported or debugged it yet.
Problem: When I remove both Tag info and Artwork from an MP3 file, the Tag info is removed but Artwork is not. I have only tried it on MP3 files, not tested other files. |
