SHOUTcast directory tags not updating
SHOUTcast directory tags not updating
I've changed my station's web page address and updated the encoder information in SAM broadcaster but the old web address still shows up in the station tag on the SHOUTcast directory. Why is that? I've reset the encoder and rebooted. When you hover over the station title, the tag: ROCK is correct, but the site: address is not correct. I've changed it and what you see is the old address, but my SAM encoder has been updated. It has been nearly 48 hrs and still the wrong site address is used when you click on my site link in SHOUTcast. If the shoutcast tags are derived from the info I enter in the encoder the problem lies elsewhere (probably at the shoutcast server end). I've checked with the company I rent my sever space through and the link is updated on there end. What can I do to get have SHOUTcast display the correct link? THANKS! |

firstly, in future please don't post the same thread in multiple parts of the forums - it is classified as cross-posting which is something you just agreed not to do - i've now removed the other thread.
as for the issue, if it hasn't updated in 48hrs then i'd need to have a link to the DNAS for the stream and also the link / search result you are using on the site so i can then check things in the backend systems to see what is going on. -daz |

firstly, thanks so much for the reply. I'm sorry for the cross post. When I realized the first post was in a winamp forum, I looked for a way to delete the post, but because this is my very first time to the site, I couldn't find it.
I'll get the links to you very shortly. The broadcast is down at the moment due to scheduled monthly anti virus scans. Thanks again. |

Now the station is not showing up at all on shoutcast. It was working last week and I made no changes to anything except change my station' web address, but I made no changes to the encoder or my server settings. Please advise -
here is the DNAS: http://bluemuff.primcast.com:7114/index.html?sid=1 and the link to the shoutcast station: http://bluemuff.primcast.com:7114/index.html?sid=1 |

the first thing to do is make sure that you have a streamid entry as per http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....79532#remember
from a look i'm not able to see any authhash in the system which would even relate to your station so you'd need to follow http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...ash_Management to create a new authhash for the stream. most likely the authhash was determined to not have been used over the 30day limit currently in place by the automatic cleanup scripts we run on the authhash database. -daz |

Thanks for the follow - up. I've followed the instructions as linked above for creating an authhash. The attachment is a screen shot after I log in. As you can see, there is no option to create an authhash. Please advise.

that's weird, the options should be on there as that is the correct page to be on. not sure what to say as i've not been aware of the DNAS doing that as that build should be showing it no matter what the 'public' flag of the source or the DNAS is. unless someone's hacked the DNAS to hide the options...

before i made my first post here I had primcast (my server provider) remote control my computer with me and look at all my encoder and server settings. they said all was well and that I needed to reach out to the shoutcast folks and investigate further.
seems now that we're at a deadend. this was working for weeks up on shoutcast, now it isn't. I can still listen to the stream from the direct primcast link here via my webpage: http://sites.google.com/site/bluemuffradio/ and here: http://primcast.com/radio/277143 please advise. what else can be done. what else can I ask of primcast? are there specific questions i need to be asking. thanks so much. please advise. |

i didn't suggest or recommend anything else in my prior reply and was not intended to appear like a 'deadend' since it was a sunday night and i still needed to look into what might be causing the DNAS to not show the links (which so far i cannot find any reason for it to be doing that) assuming it hasn't been modified on their end.
what level of access do they allow you i.e. can you upgrade the DNAS or are they only able to do it? as i think the simplest thing is going to be to see how a more recent internal build of the DNAS works since the build you're using is far behind where it now is. though it might just be easier to get them to contact me directly (email address is on my site from my signature) and can go from there. -daz |
