Winamp fails to rip selected tracks consistently
I have a paid-for copy of Winamp PRO. I am attempting to rip to flac files some classical CDs for a lengthy plane trip, specifically some symphonies. I check the tracks I want (say, one of two symphonies on the disc tracks 1-5). Winamp will say it has completed ripping all 5 tracks, will show all 5 in screen, with tag data, but 2 of the tracks will show lengths of 0:00, and will not play. This never happens with pop or rock discs I rip, only the classical. What seems to be happening is that Winamp will create files with all the tag data but no actual music. I own the cd's, I own winamp. This is not piracy. Obviously, listening to a symphony with two of the movements missing is not my goal here. What's going on?
Thanks in advance for any help! |

Maybe the filenames are too long (including directory). Try renaming the files.
Windows 7 SP1, 64 bit, Winamp 5.63, Bento Skin |

Do the two ripped files which don't play actually have the .flac extension?
At a guess, it's the same issue as described here, where the filename length exceeds the Windows limit http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=343126 [EDIT] Pipped to the post. Hi ryerman :-) |
