i am really regretting upgrading to pro

half of the reason i did it was for the ability to rip to mp3.

now i can, but.........

i've changed the encoder to "mp3 encoder v1.36" and the quality to "--alt-preset-insane" (that's the only one i saw that encodes using CBR, rather than VBR).

i want to rip to 128 kbps. that's what i have it set as.
but no matter how many times i change the settings around, it encodes to 320 kbps.
THEN i have to use realplayer converter to get 128 kbps ones.

this is sooooooooooooo frustrating.

You can set the quality to --alt-preset cbr and then set the bitrate to 128. You can also set the Quality to just Normal and set the Mode to CBR and then choose 128 bitrate.

Hello: Seems we both have the same regrets... I load a cd, send the playlist to the burner and I get the error message: the tracks are larger than cd capacity. Worse is I've contacted support for refund several times, no reply...then I go to HELP, it tells me to enter order info which should take me to a request refund form and it's not there..... Fortunately I paid with Paypal, I'll go through them for my refund.... You are better off getting your refund and using another burner.

@haileye

I can refund you. I have your order details in front of me now.

The refund request form does work though....

Support > Customer Support / More > Contact Customer Service

Select Subject: Return order
More specifically: I want to return a digital product
Additional info: I am not satisfied -or- I have an irresolvible technical issue

Did you test CD Burning with the free version before buying Pro?
There's not really any difference between the two except for Pro features being unlocked
(faster ripping/burning, rip/transcode to mp3, mpeg4 video playback).

Have you tried sending the actual songs to the burner rather than the playlist?
Did the total length of the songs actually exceed ~74 minutes?

How/where did you contact Support previously?
I'm not seeing any emails from you sent to our two official tech support email addresses.

If you use the form, then you'll get Digital River Customer Service.
If you use the email address(es), then you'll get Winamp Pro Tech Support (ie. me).

I almost always reply to legitimate/worthy cases, especially refund requests.
I can't speak for Digital River though....

Please also note that paradive's issue was with not knowing how to change the settings,
and wasn't due to a feature deficiency within Winamp itself.

Anyway, let me know if you would like me to process your refund....

Regards,

DJ Egg

Sorry to be a stick in the mud but I've been using WinAmp free and Pro for over a decade now. I've never had any of the problems you're faced with.
Having tried many others I find WinAmp to be one of the more intuitive and versatile media players available. Good luck with your alternatives.

Paradive: Have you got something like Nero InCD running? I've known that to cause the error you're seeing.
