Help with Playlist.
Ok so i set up everything, i just got one problem.
I cant login to stream 1, i know its the playlist stream. So i just tried stream 2 and stream 2 is working. Is there a way to be able to login to stream 1 and after I disconnect the playlist just goes on? Is it possible with djs? Would it be possible without djs? Ps: running vps with debian 6.0 |

you need to better detail what you're setup actually is since all i can assume is you're trying to connect on a stream which already has a source connected at the time but against what tools and their respective versions i really cannot guess at.

what are you using to feed stream #1? e.g. is it sc_trans or a 3rd party solution.
if it's sc_trans then you would need to create a DJ event and connect the Source DSP on either djport or djport2 (better to do it on djport2 if using the v2 Source DSP) and then as long as the DJ event is allowed it will override the playlist in the way you want. if it's a 3rd party software then you'd need to consult their documentation or look to change it to source software which will allow you to do what you're wanting to achieve. -daz |

yes its the sc_trans.
Ok so there is no way to join stream 1 without dj? And is it possible to leave the djlogin open so anyone with the port and the pw is able to connect? |

the DNAS will block a new direct source connection if there is already a source connected and doing that will then cause the stream to disconnect and likely kick any listeners and if you are listed in the Directory it will then remove the listing.
sc_trans is meant for doing what you are trying to do by playing a playlist and then allowing you or others to connect to it to interrupt the playlist whilst keeping the connection to the DNAS server alive so it won't de-list the stream (if listed) or drop the clients. if you don't specify a time for the DJ event (via the calendar.xml file) then it will be able to take a DJ connection at any time and if you really want to then you can just all use the same DJ login details. -daz |
