As you stated in your post above 64.12.96.225...
When browsing to that page result is as follows: "This service has moved to www.SHOUTcast.com Broadcaster Tools can be downloaded from here and documentation for them can be found here." Have they changed something...? |

i had to make sure as generally no one reads any of the info / guides.
as setting it directly is not working, i'm not too sure what else to try at the moment since that should work around dns related issues. and i'm not aware of anything having been changed with the YP handling as that's my area of things. will have to have a think about an alternative to try out. -daz |

Some more info might be helpful to me,
Are there specific port(s) requirement for this to work, like I said I'm behind proxy so only port 80 traffic is allowed, if autohash creation requires some specific port or protocol it might be getting dropped via firewall or proxy...so what ports I need open for this instance? |

the authhash handling and also YP behaviour during normal operation is all done on port 80 by default and is just xml sent over a tcp socket connection. but if you're using a proxy maybe something related to that is messing up / blocking what is being sent through or being received back from the YP (though the error you posted implies the connection out is being hindered).

I think I know what is going on; browser (IE) is directed to use proxy for port 80 however system request like DNAS server on port 80 are being blocked most likely while they never get to proxy server itself...so I need to figure out is there any way to enable DNAS to use proxy or will have to let server roam freely on port 80...
BTW: Thank you for your help and prompt replies! |

what you could try is run the dnas locally on a non-proxy setup, generate the authhash for that setup and then copy+paste the authhash into the config file for the one you actually want to use.
that's perfectly fine to do, it's only an issue if you then decide to amend details of the authhash and then it would need to be done on the original machine or i can change the IP used to lock the authhash against the machine used to create the authhash. -daz |
