@ Mosabsolum, this is my answer:
If headphones at home, then Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro (for working and enjoying). If outside, then foldable headphones from Sennheiser (I hate in-earphones). Sorry, today I have a silent day without music, but I will come back in the next days. And I have many "public playlists" and "favourites" in all the platforms. I have created my "public music librarys" to use them very often... Greetings from Sabine Klare Aka Sternenmaschinebine |

Prom season is upon me. The first prom gig of the year for me is tomorrow night. I plan on setting up extra early to make sure all my i's are dotted and t's are crossed so to speak, especially when it comes to convincing decorations/set/props/lighting crews why I need to be so anal about speaker placement for the venue. I'm considering playing your track (unless you tell me not to) as we're doing the final setup before the dance starts. Once the dance starts, it's back to the shit I complained about before
, but at least the setup and clean-up will have good music playing. That said, IF that sort of thing is selling as the people enter the floor, I'll just roll with the good shit, crank it up, and not even bother with the commercial garbage. It might be a worthwhile experiment. If I can get some Southern West Virginians turned on to this stuff, I will have accomplished something that I could have never believed possible. Don't forget to live before you die.

Nope. By all means, go ahead Ted.
What you wrote in the second paragraph is what pisses me off about Djing. People want you to pack the floor; to pack the floor most of the time you need to play commercialized carp. I'm not saying the stuff I am into is better than ... oh hell. Yes I am. Pop and hip-hop has been robbing from the true edm scene for years. And I hate their commercialized adaptation of it. Back on topic, good luck on your quest to get people turned on to it. That right there is something that has made me wish time and time again that I lived in europe. @Mosabsolum: I personally never connect to an amp. Just a 4 channel mixer. The mixer generally runs out to the amp. As for the headphones ... closed; always. Generally for me the headphones are the monitors as you can't rely on good ones in the dj booth of any club. Smash the headphones right into one ear to get an exact beatmatch; As you fade in listen with your other ear to the floor speakers to make sure it still sounds right. Adjust (low, mids, highs, beat alignment, phase shift) as needed. |

You have Your right to reclaim Your money, and 250 Euro are very much money. I think, You have Your order-acknowledgment. If nothing helps, then You have to prefer the court, to assert your own right. I am so sorry for You...

![]() ![]() fc*uk ~ The gig went well as planned. There was a lot of dancing to your set. I had to edit out the instances of "motherfucking big phat bass" of course. Sorry, I know it's one of the best features of the track, but considering the event, a middle-school prom, I had to keep the gig rated PG so to speak. I did what I said I'd do - played the set while students were coming in off the red carpet (where parents can take pictures of the couples). While they were filtering in, a lot were dancing to it, and when we killed the main lights, I cranked it up, and they loved it, so I kept it going. Any time people started to sit down, I had to match in some commercial stuff such as Rihanna, LMFAO, Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull, Kesha, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, etc. to get them back up again. I used parts of two of your sets including socks and sandals I think. I took some video of it, but it's shit quality; just getting started when lights were on - not many in there yet, then the second clip is too dark for the camera though it was fine to the human eye after the lights went down but I'll post a bit here anyway. I think there were around 210 tickets sold for the event. http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=801201 This is the first time I'm using this hosting service, so user beware. Looking for a non-sign-up video or animated gif hosting site. The Denon 2000 model has wires coming out both ears; I usually prefer where both channels are fed through one wire (still stereo and not mono) and fed over the head to the other ear, and with a break-away connection for safety. I've noticed that the best headphones don't always need the best sound quality, but rather the best ability to block out exterior sounds. That helps me an enormous amount when cuing/beatmatching, which is what (if you ask me) makes a dj a dj. I just go back and forth between a laptop and desktop, but in the picture, I was just using Winamp while getting started, not really "DJ-ing" yet. Don't forget to live before you die.

Awesome, Ted!
Gutted you had to edit out "mother fucking big fat bass", though I do understand why. Glad to hear things went well for you and I'm actually somewhat shocked that people actually took to the music; that always a nice treat no matter what you are playing and where you are playing it! |

This one is going to stay private and will only be up for a limited time. Too many mistakes. I setup a recipe for disaster, which is why this was done in the comfort of my own home.
Recipe: tracks I have never listened to aside from the preview; new hardware (computer and mixer/decks), new software (upgrade from TP1 to TP2; it's a lot different); playing with new tricks. Still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong at the biggest blunder around 120 min. WTF is about all I got. Colossal error somewhere. Anyway, stick with it a half hour; you will be rewarded. After Windows Update incl. rebooting my Winamp has come together with Windows, my Winamp has loaded my playlist with many "Radio Streams" and my Winamp has picked up this stream for me to start with the play of the very nice music... Greetings from Sabine Klare Aka Sternenmaschinebine |

I dunno, maybe it's all in my head, but this whole thing just sounds fucked up to me.
I've not played out with Traktor 2 because I'm nearly convinced there are sound issues. I've redone this demo set twice and it still sounds off --- in completely different areas. I've meticulously beat gridded the tracks myself (which I normally don't do) and mashed the sync buttons every chance I got (which I normally don't do) and it still sounds a mess. WTF? Opinions? Maybe it's all in my head ... |

Ok, opinion on "nail the nile" is that, well, it's alright as far as I can tell. I can't go in depth because I used it for housecleaning and other Saturday afternoon chores music. That said, I didn't notice any real obvious problems. I liked it, but like I said, I wasn't using my critical ear, just using the track to keep me changing laundry loads, doing dishes, dusting, paying car insurance, etc. and collecting gear for another prom gig.
Now I'm listening to some old Van Halen again. Good music to keep you moving. Don't forget to live before you die.

One of 254 tunes in my beatport list.
I dunno WTF has gone down these past few weeks, but I've had 250-400 new tunes to screen each week. Usually it's less than 100... Also, got a solid lead on a gig in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Club being rebuilt, change it's sound, needs new DJs. If I land it, a career change might be in order. Headed down there is weekend. Here's to hoping. I'd fucking love it if DJ'ing became my "job". |
