Thanks, for the continued presets, they are valued! I bet there are more lurkers here than people think, that are also thankful.. but don't post.
I like how you have stayed within the same thread, seems nice for some reason

Interesting formulas - you must have spent a long time with these.

With the ones made last year, yes. The last ones took a couple of hours. Since the output is impredictable, and changes even with minor tweaks, it's pointless to try improving them. Now once I get a good one, I leave it alone.

A variation of the green machine equation. This one draws spirals instead of circles and also produces less noise. A background was added in some of the presets.

Some variations of the iterative formula, with forms disposed in a grid.
One form is drawn per frame, so it may look better when MD framerate is set to 5-10. |

The green machine theme is good but I find it a bit static for a preset. Here is a variation which actually reacts to the music.

Thank you for the new version.
I was actually happy to find a way to keep the equation output under a certain control, using x= x+ sample*sin(x), instead of x=x+ sin(x), etc. The result in some cases is still messy, I look at it more like a math example.

The formula used in fractal bits generalized to orbits of 3,4,5 and 6 elements.

Presets based in a tree fractal, built either with a random generator or with loops.
The random generator tree is based in a wave made by an author I lost the name of. Shifter, maybe? |

A template for making dolls with joints.
The trick is to have variables storing the last point of each segment, which is the joint for connecting with other segments. There is a minor issue with the coordinates in torero, I guess it must be for having too many variables. The runner is more precise but less customizable. |

A test for a gallop animation cycle.
The issue with coordinates was after all code-related and is now corrected. MD handles well the 80 variables. |

Haha, quite cute, these characters. What's meant to be wrong with Torero ? It looks ok to me

The error could be seen when reducing the shapes size, but is now corrected.
Here is a new template for animation of four legged beasts, simplified and optimized. |

New versions of run cycles. I still haven't come to a good preset for them.

Exploring the simple formula for tangency angle w in ellipses:
tan(w)= a/b*tan(t); where x= a*cos(t); y= b*sin(t); is the ellipse |

Hi likwit and thank you for the interest. What you are asking is quite a task.
I have here several versions often with temporary names and I would have to download all of them first. And since many won't work well or not at all with the last MD version, I would have to make the necessary corrections. Anyway, I will soon make this with the ones I enjoy most. For the moment, here are those that were lost by the server between january and march 2010. |

Some images where a color mapping is applied to a grid, based on the sum of distances to a few points inside the grid, a bit like the voronoi diagrams.
In the 3D version the cube facettes have very low resolution and the framerate is also low. Ideally, the color of each face should be used as a height map, like in the images. This could probably be done with mathematic software but not in real time. I wonder if it's possible in MD using shaders. |

An idea of how the cube would be inside.
In n.1 the 10 points are stll, in n.2 the 5 points are moving, distorting the spheres of influence as the section is slowly drawn. |

Similar as the precedent, just easier to tweak.
