You used to be able to count bin posts by searching for all posts by a single user. We don't really have to do that anymore because we all know kofplayer is kicking all of our asses, having far more posts than we do, even if we only count the posts in his most frequented single thread.

yeah.... but i very seriously doubt he's human anymore, i mean shit... i can't even remember the last intelligent post he's made (counting, does not count) i swear.... it's like skynet on it's day off.

He's human still; I often converse with him both on the forums and on Windows Live Messenger. I have bot-checked him many times to see if he has placed a bot on his computer, but I haven't found any evidence to support that he's anything short of a real person at a computer. He responds immediately and appropriately when I say something other than the count number to him, and occasionally he gets a wrong count (and eventually fixes it) which wouldn't likely happen with a bot. I never really asked him why he has so much computer time, and he hasn't volunteered, so I leave the topic alone. I figure it's none of my business.

i just don't like counting and honestly, is derailing even against the rules this low?

Derailing isn't really a problem so long as the user places the correct count on the thread.

The rules are on page 666 and are spelled out pretty well in a few posts there.

Many people have intentionally attempted to derail the thread, but the posts without correct counts are pretty much ignored and the count continues as if the post had been nothing more than the correct count. Therefore the attempts are pretty much unsuccessful and futile.

the time i made a custom .jpg that filled about 20 screens worth of scrolling nearly derailed it AND for once i actually counted, problem was you only see a fourth of one letter at a time.

bastard got a pen and paper, it just can't be done, sad as that is to say.

I just use the count before and add 2 if that's an issue, or now with post numbers it's easier yet.

i think you underestimate the gargantuan size we're talking about here.

it's certainly longer than the entire page of replies in here at current, here have a look:

Ctrl+scroll wheel ftw. I can then see 3 digits and part of a fourth at a time on your pic.

Even if I didn't have that trick, I could easily see that post 371 preceded it, meaning this is 373. Even without that, I can still just post "+1" and then edit after seeing my post number. Or, I could look at the Recycle Bin number of replies and add one to check, or two to post new. Extremely easy situation to handle.

I like the idea though, and it was good for it to be the correct number.

yeah i know what you're saying, i think the million count might actually shrink the image automatically anyway and as of probably a year or two ago the zooming thing with the wheel renders it useless, but yeah...

it was so great at the time, even if only for like 10 minutes or so the million count was derailed while participants scrambled for pen and paper and it wasn't even an off-topic post, one of my best moments easily.
