the connection to the DNAS server isn't working / responding correctly which is why you're getting the 'Server went away' messages as it implies the DNAS initially replied but then closed the connection.
are you using the inheritconfig option in the sc_trans configuration? have you checked the DNAS server's log to see what that is showing with the sc_trans connection attempts? -daz |

![]() heres what the dnas log says. <05/21/12@09:43:34> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/Linux v1.9.8 (Feb 28 2007) starting up... <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] pid: 552 <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] loaded config from sc_serv.conf <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:8000)... <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] opening source socket <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] source thread starting <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] opening client socket <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <05/21/12@09:43:34> [main] client main thread starting <05/21/12@09:43:34> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <05/21/12@09:44:16> [dest: 216.160.99.3] server unavailable, disconnecting |

the DNAS log is not showing any indication of a source attempting to connect.
if this is all being done on the same machine then make sure to set serverip=127.0.0.1 in the sc_trans configuration file. if that doesn't help then you'd need to post your sc_trans config file with passwords and mp3 unlock codes removed. i'm not sure what you're trying to say with the above post as the first log indicated a playlist was being read anyway - all i know is that the file(s) you are using have a version of the ID3v2 tag format which is not supported by this build of sc_trans. -daz |

mmm, idk about that, the file shoutcast.mp3 should be compatible, cause it comes with the transcoder lol.

you most recent log shows you're trying to use '/servers/sc_trans/music/main/No_Excuses_On_Da_Bowl.mp3' which is not the shoutcast.mp3 file (which i know has compatible tags).

lets start again, are you still having issues with sc_trans connecting to the v1 DNAS you are trying to use?
as what you are posting from the logs and then saying is not making much sense (and the lack of tags being read from the files is less important compared to being able to broadcast the audio data). -daz |

nah, the connection is an easy fix, lol, its just that the transcoder wont play the music, lol.
the transcoder wont play the files from what i can tell, cause it needs those tags to play i guess, lol. |

as you don't seem to be serious or providing any valid information as requested (i had said to provide config files with passwords / unlock codes removed if things did not work after trying the serverip option), i'm going to leave you to it.

outprotocol_1=3 needs to be changed to be outprotocol_1=1 when connecting to a v1 DNAS as you are doing.
