Pointers/Tips/Those sorts of things...
So, for those of you who are not aware I'm in college... Don't get excited I'm only upgrading I never did that whole graduation thing.
Anyways, I was accepted into a three year interactive media program that requires me to finish a English essay writing course. Fairly straight forward. I'm not that awesome at grammar, writing, essay's, etc. I have been told that I'm a great story teller, I have also been told that whenever I write an essay it turns out to sound more like a article for a magazine of sorts... I tend to make a joke out of a lot of topics. I'm not sure if that's bad, all I know is that I need a B at least. The next three years of my life basically hang on this. The last time I wrote any sort of essay; I was still wondering if having a beard that connects from my chin all the way down my neck to my chest was normal or not... Needless to say it was quite a while ago. I'm currently doing "research" into my current assignment... Which, is a comparison/contrast essay. I had a wide variety of topics to choose from; (look at me using a semi-colon!) I decided to write on TV advertisements on a select few of consumer products the first option was "New cars and beer". This of course hit me right at home. I've decided to keep it simple and only choose two commercials to pick from instead of many, because I'm comparing the commercials and not so much the products. If you're interested, I'm comparing the commercial for the new 2013 mustang and an old favorite Molson Canadian commercial that I personally love. Mustang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiyhXf_KVc0 Molson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_yW4-cgG4g I'm not asking for help on what to compare in these two just yet, what I'm asking for is if any of yous' might be able to help me more over with what I should try to focus on with comparison essays I don't think I've ever written one before. The only essay I truly remember is a persuasive essay I wrote about how I should never have to write a persuasive essay again. (I got a B+ on that, so it wasn't that persuasive) Thanks guys!
