Maybe WA is objecting to what you're trying to do with the Dxtory software app?

because there are multiple references to dlls relating to dxtory mentioned in what you posted. though the crash implies it happens in mp4v.w5s but it could be likely dxtory is interfering with things which is likely causing the crash.

Does anyone have any idea why dxtory is crashing Winamp Iam using it to capture the video tab it works fine for about playing 5-6 movies in the playlist then it crashes
If anyone would know how to capture the video part of Winamp without using like a screen region because if the movie is in a bigger resolution I would need to edit the region. So if you have some suggestions I would be glad to here them. |

Hi istealth,
I don't have a sure fix for your issue. It could be a memory usage, allocation, or leakage problem. But a work-a-round that immediately comes to my mind (if the problem is the number of movies in a row and not a particular movie) is why not do 5 movies, then shutdown, restart and do 5 more? Working in stages involves more for you to do, but if it gets the job done then why not? You could use DrO's Playlist Separator plug-in to put break points in the playlist, rather than break the list up into several smaller ones. http://nunzioweb.com/daz/plsp.html I had some free time to kill, so I looked for a Dxtory forum. Found one with a recent post related to a problem with WA when capturing a visualization. The solution given was to enable "Check Destruction of Device" in the Dxtory options. The poster also stated that "Fraps" and "Bandicam" work well with WA. Anyway, link below in case you want to post a question there. Good Luck. http://forum.dxtory.com/index.php?to...sg6353#msg6353 Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1, WA Pro 5.7.0.3392 beta, cPro MPxi_remix skin, 5.1 speaker system |

Hi istealth,
I understand you have a problem and want it fixed. But you're not helping. Computers are complex machines in general and nobody can guess what your specific hardware and software setup is. Can't look over your shoulder from here and see what you got and what you're trying to do. ![]() It may seem like a hassle and you don't have to answer my questions (I was mostly guessing from what info you have provided). But if you want official help you need to follow the troubleshooting steps and provide all the info requested in the link I posted above (# 8). Since yours is a video problem even more info than normal is required. It's really not good enough to just not run the dxtory software. You need to return to a clean install as described in the link and start from there (with help from here) in order to find the problem and hopefully a solution. Or you can wait and hope someone with the same problem (and a solution) sees your post and responds. Or you can try other software. Kinda brutal, but that's how it is with this kind of trial and error support (when remotely connecting to your system is not possible). The windows media player, with the help of Shark007's codec package, does a surprisingly good job. The playback is much sharper and clearer on it's own, without the adjustments I find I need to make with VLC.

1) Make sure you have the latest version of Winamp 5 from winamp.com Remove ALL third party plugins and confirm a clean install. Done. 2) Make sure you have the latest versions of DirectX and your soundcard/videocard drivers; Win2k/XP users - make sure that you have the latest service pack installed. Done. 3) Read these threads first: Known Winamp 5 Bugs http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=156839 Done. Official Winamp 2.x Bug List (defunkt!) http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=51934 Done. Official 3rd-party Plugin Bug List http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=58884 Done. This is to make sure you're not reporting a bug that is already known or other common problems. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When reporting: 1) Please include full details about your computer - what hardware does it have (soundcard type, videocard type, etc) and what operating system (OS) does it run. For NT4/Win2k/WinXP, please mention what service pack has been installed if you have updated it with a service pack. Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 System Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group System Model: H61MH Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz Memory: 16GB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 Audio: Realtek HD Audio ( updated latest driver ) 2) Make sure that you write down the exact steps to reproduce the bug (very important to make the lives of everyone a lot easier).
3) If possible/relevant, include a short sample of the file that causes the problem/bug by uploading it to a free webserver/your own webserver. Remember, 3rd party plugins are not written by Nullsoft, so if you have problems with those plugins, report to the author of the plugin, not here. Files are to big 700mb there movies 4) If you are reporting a crash, write down exact crash info, this will make it much easier for us to track down the problem (again: update everything to latest versions before reporting, otherwise it will be useless). code: the reason i want to use winamp is because i can use a different output for the sound ( virtual audio cable ) but i disabled that while the clean install happened. if this is not enough information i dont know what is i followed all the steps |

Have you tried using Windows task manager to monitor WA'a memory usage when playing these videos? Is memory being released between videos or is it constantly increasing? Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1, WA Pro 5.7.0.3392 beta, cPro MPxi_remix skin, 5.1 speaker system |

maybe u can install lite from the pro install file, but that doesn't explain why he wouldn't know he had pro, but whatever...
i don't see whats surprising about winamp not working with dxtopy and ffdshow or whatever non winamp apps are at play here. my question is does it crash when those things aren't being used? if not, is it even a winamp problem?
