Questions about SHOUTcast Transcoder.
I'm running shoutcast and sc_trans for the first time.
setting everything up wasn't that complicated, but i do have problems with "SHOUTcast Transcoder AJAX api". I've checked http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas..._Specification and as it says, I'm sending a POST request with the parameters 'op' and 'seq' with random values, but the response i'm getting is : "XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: moz-nullprincipal:{88xxxx8d-xx1b-4b1f-xx10-d6xxxafc5xx0} Line Number 1, Column 1:" it looks like this: http://111.111.111.111:8034/api I just want to make sure, i have to send the POST info to my shoutcast server port, not the Transcoder one, right? any way I tried both and it just fails. am i doing something wrong or could be i am missing something or didn't configure something? and another question, am i able remotely, using the ajax api or any other method to d/c the sc_trans so i could connect with a live streamer, and get sc_trans back running again without having the need connecting to the server and doing it manually? thanks. |

a) You DONT use the shoutcast port (what is this "shoutcast port" in sc_trans anyway)
b) You DONT use the transcoder DJ port c) You DO use the adminport - as set in the config file - see http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...Administration as to your other question ... set up DJ ports on sc_trans, then you set up DJ's in sc_trans config, then you stream LIVE to sc_trans, and it will stop playing from the playlist, and start streaming your LIVE stream - see http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcas...r_2#DJ_Support of course, I'm assuming you are using sc_trans version 2 General Shoutcast troubleshooting guide

Thaks, I did use the "adminport" and it works if i am using
the regular commands such as nextsong - http://server:8000/nextsong but when i am using the api with AJAX, I'm getting no response, and the request status is "401 Unauthorized". I did send the required parameters - 'oq' and 'seq' and the Content-Type is "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8" as required. still, doesn't work. |

the documentation on how to use the api is poor since i had little knowledge of what / how to use it when i started writing it. the simplest option is to get an older version of the distribution with 'testui' and use that to confirm what is / isn't required (though that is not supported) - that's the best i can suggest at the moment (as the documentation needs to be overhauled anyway).
