Shoutcast Monthly Stats Error???
The Shoutcast monthly stats is not showing any data: http://yp.shoutcast.com/ttsl.html
Last month had quite a few streams showing 0 tune-ins, now everything is blank. What is the issue? |

there were issues with how it is generated which lead to it effectively failing. it's been fixed now but there is no way to re-generate last months report. http://yp.shoutcast.com/ttsl_weekly.html should be the first one to appear correctly when it is next run (probably tomorrow). though you are only one of a handful of people who've even commented about it which makes me wonder if it even needs to be publically provided anyway...

it probably is one of those if you know about it sort of pages. i'm aware of it from the years before my time working on the tools, but i don't remember if ever being really pushed as the only link i'm aware off is via the Help -> Stats item on the main site. i might put a link to the monthly and weekly stats on the http://yp.shoutcast.com/ page as there's probably more chance of people trying that than the link on the main site (like with the attached image of the info box shown which will happen when the YP is next updated).
i wouldn't remove it as we use it internally and i think it's just one of those pages which will always keep going as long as there is SHOUTcast (ignoring data output issues), it was more that i was just surprised that only a few people have made any comment about it not working. either way the weekly report should have updated in the morning (or a few hours depending on where in the world people are). -daz |

that's why i said in a few hours or morning as it's generally run at midnight on tuesday EDT/EST (something like that - all i know is it's generally there when i get up in the morning) which i don't really want to wait around for seeing as that is then 5am BST which is an ungodly hour to be awake at still.

Would you mind elaborating on these meaning behind these stats please? What is the relevance of this with respect to TTSL from a marketing point of view?
----------------- ** Top stations by listener conversion (number of tune ins / number of listeners tuned for more than 5 minutes) POS RATIO STATION -------------------- In addition, the top TTSL list stops at 7645. Is the polling configured to pull only the top 7645 or does this vary and more importantly, is there a larger total stored somewhere? |

based on how marketing can be anything you want it to be especially when dealing with ratios, statistics, etc, it can be what you want.
the main thing with the ratio is to show out of the number of people reported to have listened to the stream, what percentage keep listening to it, so the higher the ratio, more of the people listening stayed listening which i suppose can be used to help aid in get advertisers if you're showing that people don't just click and switch to someone else. the ttsl report does not show all stations and generally hasn't to my knowledge. it even tells you where the cut-off is for ttsl and ratio with 1000 listener hours or more for the ttsl and 0.45 for the ratio. that is all that is provided other than the currently active number of stations (updated at regular intervals) on the shoutcast.com home page. and you're now the 3rd person to start asking questions about the ttsl page so basically what is provided is what there is. if more specific details are needed then that's something which would need to be locally monitored on your own DNAS servers. -daz |

Have we figured out why some of the Tune-ins get reported as 0 for some stations? I have been following the weekly reports and there appears to be quite a few more stations showing 0 Tune-ins in the ranking then the previous week.
What is the technical reason for the reporter showing 0? Is it because it's prioritized to list stations only based on TTSL, therefore, any other category is irrelevant to it? Is there a way to force it to check that the other variables; such as; Tune-ins, 5-min-Tune-ins is > 0? I'm just trying to figure out how it is possible for the TTSL to be reported with 0 Tune-ins, doesn't make sense. |

i've not looked into any of that since thnigs have been working again, i've got other things to work on now.
i do plan to check it out as time allows but from all of the older versions hosted elsewhere, the reports have been showing those sort of things for years even on ones that pre-date the YP re-write so it must be something consistent. i will comment that obviously the '5-MIN-TUNE-INS' can be zero if no one is listening to the station for more than 5mins as reported by the DNAS. am not sure on why the main 'TUNE-INS' column can also do it but like i said, at the moment i've got bigger things to work on - the report generates like it did before so that is all that i was focusing on when getting it running again. -daz |

update: the monthly report appears to have generated correctly (though probably should filter out any related to 'My Station name' listings as that's a default too many people keep using).
