Playlists are Registering All Dead Files
I've been through the FAQ, a number of problems, plugins, and lots of searching and so on and still have no solution to this so here goes.
I have a massive number of playlists. Recently, I planned to wipe my drive and reinstall the OS. Before doing that, I saved all of my playlists by clicking on the "Playlists" parent folder, selecting all of them, and pressing save which created a big stack of "Winamp playlist file"s (I'm sure there was an easier way with plugins but I was in a rush). After the wipe, I moved my music to a new drive and they were reorganized there. I then loaded all of that music back into winamp and successfully reloaded my playlists as well. When I open a playlist, all of the songs are there but none will play even though they're in my media library. Because I've done more than just change drive letters using a batch text editor on the playlists will not solve my problem. I need something that will syncronize the songs in my playlists with the songs in the media library. Nothing but their file paths were changed so I figured it would be easy for it to detect that these still existed in Winamp's library, just under a different file path. Apparently, it's not so easy. Did I overlook a plugin or feature that can do this? Thanks. |
