Only Classic skin works correctly, other skins show up but don't function.

When I download Winamp most of the media library, playlist, main window, and the tabs to the left under "now playing" do not work. The only parts of winamp that respond at all when clicked are the menu tabs at the very top and that's about it.

However, when I try changing the skin to Classic, everything works fine.

I tried the other default skins thinking Modern may work but even it won't function.

I've used Winamp for many years now and I have never seen this kind of behavior. Any ideas?

Thanks

have you changed the font scaling in the OS to be over 125%?

Cool, that was the problem. Thanks Dr. O, nice to see Winamp is still so actively supported it's been awhile since I've been on the forum.

Heya

I have a similar problem (win7). Winamp was installed for 1 year so, always had the latest updates ok, but after upgrading to the latest release 5.6.x.. I can only view the classic skin.

I went to Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display, but my font settings are 100% (

So.. any idea why this happens ? Help appreciated.

PS: After it happened, and as a tentative to recover, I noticed all the skins were gone from the skin directory, (weird) so I went to a backup and restored the skins, and now I can select them but even so, the GUI always displays the classic view, although in the skins menu item, my chosen skin is checked (V).

Restarting Winamp does not fix it.

pedritus: it sounds like you've not installed the modern skin support. re-run the installer and make sure it's checked in the user interface section on the components page.

I've got the same problem with only the 'classic skin' working now that I've installed the latest version of winamp...

When I try and change the skin, I get this:

This happens w/every skin I've downloaded so far...been using Winamp for YEARS and this is the first time I've had issues like this.

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks...

you'll need to provide a plug-ins list -> http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins

Thank you DrO, the problem was effectively in the installation. For some reason (packing?) the checkbox for the modern skins extension became unchecked.

Solved. Thanx a lot!

OK, so changing my font size back to 100% allows the skin to work correctly, but is there some way to load Winamp up without scaling? It's not practical for everything I do to be limited to 100% -- anything below 125% is actually difficult to see!
