Has anyone played Black And White?
I can get it now for 10 bucks, I remember when it came out for like $50. Is it worth the ten dollars? It dropped awfully fast, what's the deal? It looks pretty cool and I've heard good things, but I'd like to hear firsthand accounts instead of reviews.

It's a great game if you have the patience to play it. The game moves very very slowly and has a lot of bugs. The later levels are a little better though.

It's not too shabby. Pretty good graphics, and it can get addictive. The game allows you to play God, and you can terrorize the villagers.

what are you talking about? B&W was one of the most bug free titles to date! Sure it had bugs, but they where patched and is now bug free.
THis game is awsome! Even for being 3 years old, its great. trust me, well worth $10 |

Metallicia - don't get it. please. it's a waste of time and infuriating to get the little mouse movements down pat for the signs you have to make.... probably the biggest waste of money on a video game for me ever.
My advice is to start drinking heavily. - John Belushi, Animal House |

They guaranteed that the second installment will be much much better...since u get to control armies along with ur creature.

I trained my creature to fling his own crap at the villagers. Other than that, it was a big letdown. A complete micro-management nightmare. I didn't finish the second island before I gave up.
edit: I might reinstall it one day to see how pretty it can be on a decent PC... There's no need to tell me when I'm right; I operate on that principle exclusively and with absolute certainty |

Well, there is a lot of micromanagement, unless you train your creature to do it all, which can take quite a while. I recently reinstalled it and played the whole way through - it was lots of fun, but then, I already knew what I was doing. I
think the learning curve is screwed up, because by the time you really know how to train your creature, he's already screwed up. I would reccommend playing through the entire first and second levels (which will take a while), and then restarting the game, and using those levels to teach your creature a bunch of stuff. Black and White? The thing we do as kids when we need to randomly pick teams? Brings back memories.

i think black&white is one of the best games ever
not because its a speedup game or something but thx to b&w came a lot more features in other games the hardpart in the game is making your creature good :P it takes a shiitload of attention, plus that you should really take your time on the first isle...really handy but heey does anyone know about the music plugin for the game its supported by winamp only, but it doesnt really work with mine... *this plugin only works after the 1.1V is instaled* *you can manage your music in b&w + your creature reacts to the music by dancing and acting the way you acted towards him* |

Black and White was great. And the plug-in for WinAmp seems to have stopped working around 3.1. Creature Island was fantastic.
Black and White 2 had potential, but didn't live up to it. You don't "train" the creature, you buy miracles and abilities with "tribute" points from doing nicey-nice to villagers. You have to have a mind for B&W to like it. I know this is wicked late, but BUMP anyway. |

Old games, Old threads, Old Hats
Considering that other people may find such things useful, as older games do still have followings, it's a good thing your opinion isn't the only one that counts.
H8 people that need to b1tch instead of moving on. Bet you're l33t round here, aren't you, kiddo? |
