Realtime streaming?

Hi.
I am a small class dj that does a few spots around some clubs in town.
I want to start streaming my audio live so people can tune in on there ipod, android or windows.
I downloaded shoutcast plugin but couldnt see where to set the input to line in from my mixer.
Im using my laptop with win 7 on it.,

I want to stream direct from it as most the places i play have a lan port nearby and can use there internet.

If someone can give me some tips and how to do this i would appreciate it.

(i did used to use shoutcast about 14 years ago but forgot it all now)

One more thing, i would like to get a girl so say my dj name and location and have it play every 15 mins, how would i do that too?

Cheers
Stuart

SAM Broadcaster is your best bet for scheduling ID's. Plus it does a great job with Shoutcast. Shoutcast is as easy as pie you enter the server information in SAM your broadcast password in SAM and its a go. Yes its pricey at $300 but there is a payment plan that Spacial Audio has.

Shout cast server (See my signature). Setting your Shoutcast server is easy. When you sign up you'll be asked for a User name, Admin pass, broadcaster pass. Yes you can make the admin and broadcast pass the same. The reason there is a option for separate passwords is in case you want guest DJ's operating your station and you don't want them to have the admin password (of course).

You'll need a stream license (see my signature). after that you are good to go.

There are FREE broadcasting software like RadioDJ but you'll have to understand more techie stuff in order to get it to run in other words it is not a Radio station in a box like SAM.

Hope this helps.

You got to first wrap your head around what your actually doing when you stream live.
This is the basic process. TONS of variations, but likely more or less your looking at this.

If your streaming from a club? Are you planning a hotspot, to a server? or having the club provide bandwidth. A lot of variables in this.

Also are you 100% digital, or using hardware.

What are you/the clubs looking to invest in this.

ECT, ect, ect.

"line1" being the a cable from the club sound system to your soundcard?
Use Winamp plus the Shoutcast DSP plugin for it, both are free: http://www.shoutcast.com/broadcast-tools
You can then set up your notebook's recording device to use "What you hear"/"Musix Mix" so it simply picks up every sound source played.
Finally set up the plugin: http://wiki.winamp.com/wiki/Source_DSP_Plug-in

The licence the club owner has for playing music in his club does NOT cover web streaming. So you, as well as the club owner, might get into trouble if you don't inform yourself about the necessary licences for webradio streaming.

hi stuee,

I've work with a view solution , and all worked fine, but as already told above, it depends on how much you want to "invest".

For example, I did it via VirtualDJ & listen2myradio & shoutcast. Playing normaly at the gig and also broadcasting to the web. It was done in 5 minutes.

another example is, using sam & listen2myradio & shoutcast, but you have to be sure what kind of data you're streaming (flash and media player, media player only (mp3 format)
flash only (mp3 format),New flash only (mp3 format)(support mac,html5 and more))
'cause in some situation android users doen't hear you, and in other i-users don't hear you. So it depends on the setup

actually it's no so difficult

The other thing is the necessary licences for webradio streaming, That is one thing you have be looking about.
