Play starts at random position!
This has been happening for a while now, and I have only recently become irritated enough to actually register and post. I'm hoping it's a known feature that can be avoided.
I tend to listen to music an album at a time, browse albums, choose one, get to the track list, start with the first track. So far so unremarkable. The problem that I am having is that playback tends to commence somewhere other than at the start of the track- sometimes a few seconds from the end, even. The skip forward/back buttons don't help, and I can't drag the play position slider back to the start. To play the track properly, I have to bring up the tracklist, and select it again. This behaviour isn't consistent, doesn't happen all the time, but is frequent. It happened on my old Android 2.3 HTC Desire just as often as it does on my Android 4.0 Samsung Galaxy SIII. I know that it's not remembering a previous play time, as this is typically the first track of an album, and I rarely listen to only part of the first track. I know that in the case of today's misfire, I had listened to the album in question from start to end last time, without breaks. So, is this caused by some session saving metadata that I can disable (as it's clearly not working correctly), or is it just a weird bug? It is more or less the opposite of the common complaint with the "resume playback position" bug, where people actually want to pick up where they left off

..oh, also, while I remember- possibly related. This lunchtime, I noticed that if I receive an SMS while Winamp is playing, it acts rather oddly- music drops out silently for a moment, no audible alert- but also, sometimes when it resumes playing, the music is in a completely different part of the track.
It seems like there is something rotten in code that handles play position generally. (In this instance, was using latest Winamp on Android 4.0/Galaxy S3) |

I have this problem as well. It will either start in the middle-end of the first track or skip the first track entirely. It's always done this; I finally gave up and went back to the stock app a while back (those two are the only two that will Scrobble on my phone), but decided to give Winamp another go and forgot how bad this is. It happens nearly every time I play an album.
