Winamp is clearing my album song ratings at random!!!

Noticed this over the last few days; it seems that when I view my songs in the library album view with their respective artwork... it randomly clears all the songs in a random album of their ratings...

None of the songs in my library are read-only...

This is not after anything, like editing the tags, refreshing the artwork, rearranging the list in the library...

Yes, I have checked the option in the Preferences to apply my rating to the file [default off]

Literally not doing anything, I will click out of the library, then back into it, and a random album will have all of its respective song ratings reset to zero...

Just recognized that Winamp is clearing the rating of some albums when I Double click on the Album in the library.

This is browsing the Library with the Album Art showing, I am not clicking anywhere near the Stars below the Art...

Semi - Solved

When I display the Album Art of my media library, upon clicking once anywhere along the entire bottom region of an Album's box , clears all ratings of that particular album...

I have seen posts about people with similar issues when they click in different areas of the Album box... but still no solution...

preferences -> media library -> appearance tab -> 'rating column appearance' and change how the click handling is dealt with - that is the best solution that i'm aware off (though i've not actually tried to replicate it, but what you're describing should be able to be adjusted via that set of options).

Wow, this was affecting me also and driving me bonkers. I am not sure why anyone would want to clear their ratings when clicking on an album, or why this would be enabled by default. Also, the preference is astonishingly difficult to find. I looked several times and would never have found it without this post. The tab called "appearance" should be only about appearance and not behavior!

it's on the appearance tab as the dialog options also affect the visual appearance of the ratings column. it's not an ideal place to put but it was the best of the poor set of options at the time (and really it should never have been made available but c'est la vie).
