Winamp detect my device but NOT CONNECT to it!!!!

Hi,

Winamp is able to detect my android device but not able to connect to it.
I see my device no need to click on "discover" and if I click on it I see "Attach: Connect device to Winamp" but nothings happend and stays un-connected.

I use this via Wi-Fi
In the past this was working flawlesly on WinXP!

Winamp Pro v5.63 on Win7 x64
Winamp Pro v1.3.4 on Android 2.3

(both Winamp's are registered versions)

Is there a way to solve this?

Regards,
Vaako

What mode are you usign?

on my old HTC Desire I used the USB mode.

On my new Galaxy S3 you don't get USB mode, but I downloaded "Easy UMS" from the XDA developers site to be able to use USB mode.

Links up quite easily.

First time it will take 20mins or so as it's loading up all the data onto files. Next times will be quick...

@joebloggscity
I use it via Wi-Fi and not via USB.
---------------------------------

Here a quick update about the situation:

I have taken my old android with Eclair 2.1 and Winamp detects / connects without a problem.

Samsung Spica GT-i5700 with Eclair 2.1 it works
Samsung Galaxy GT-i9001 with Gingerbread 2.3 it does not work

Any suggestions?

Vaako

should be fine with 2.3.

Startign from scratch

1) Goto your external SD card and delete all the winamp files.
2) set up USB mode
3) Link your phone to your PC.
4) press discovery in winamp

it may take 20-30mins on first time for loading up, thereafter should be fine.

It worked for me and I used 2.1 & 2.3 on my old HTC Desire, and 4.0 with my SGS3 (using "Easy UMS" for the new phone).

try to link it via USB for the first time (for that 20-30min load up). That will set up the winamp files on your phone.

Then try it via wi-fi.

How can I work via WiFI if I first connect via USB, That makes no sense!

It must work directly via Wi-Fi.

As I already told my other phone is perfecly recognised so we must determine the problem this newer phone dont want to connect.

I have log a alogcat debug file for the Winamp technicians so they can analyze what the problem is.

Have you tried clearing your data from the application? Is your pairing prompt on the phone appearing? It might be glitched. Manage the app and clear data. Don't uninstall as it doesn't always clear all data. Clear the app cache too.

Yep I have tried that and did not helped either.
The buffer/cache data could not be cleared it was already zero bytes.

Thanks for your suggestion!
