ML never worked

Hello,

I recently returned to Winamp after years away. I have never had it installed on this system before. After my clean install of 5.63 I attempted adding files to the media library (under file menu). When I do this, no window pops up to add folders. Alternatively, I tried dragging my music folder into my media library, but still, no result. I tried uninstalling and installing a slightly older version, no luck. I have reinstalled with virus scan turned off. I also have tried adding to the media library from safe mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mattpre,

You may be using the full installer, but you have not made a full installation.

I think you may not have installed the Media Library plug-in needed to support the feature you're trying to use. Reinstall the latest version 5.63 and try installing the Nullsoft Local Media v3.04 [ml_local.dll] plug-in, in addition to the other plug-ins you have chosen to install.

I assume you only want to use mp3 files, since that is the only format an input plug-in is installed for. I don't know if that will affect the files you will be able to list and add. But even if it does not, you will not be able to play any other format.

mattpre, your one for nunz list shows old vers and a lot of stuff missing.

do a "clean" install using 5.63 and its default config. also, your one for nunz itself seems old, although that might not be true, as i don't know how deep it reports the ver number.
