Question Is it possible to choose in which folders to look for music?

Hi, I have installed Android version of Winamp and it automatically scanned my SD card for audio files. Now majority of my music files are those from my GPS navidation saying: turn left, turn right, first left, second exit etc. Is there a possibility to set up folders with music or WinAmp always scans all the storage media? Thanks.

i would like to know this too.
Cant you just use it same way as on computer. Select folder with music you wish to add to library of winamp, and that's it. Rest of audio files on the machine is then unknow to winamp unles you manually add it to the music library.

thanks

Specify music folders for winamp

Hello there,

I have a Samsung S3 and a big problem with winamp. I have searched forums and see that my issue was raised yearsago but never solved. still, never give up...

Can you specify in which folders winamp should search for music? all of my music is on my external sd card and this is the only locations in which i want winamp to look for music.

in my internal memory i have, among other things, two language vocabulary trainers that between them comprise over 8,000 audio files. This dwarfs my number of actual music files. It is to say the least more than annoying to have them included and makes the player quite unusable.

Is this problem being worked on? I have seen reasons for this listed but find them insufficient. Or can anyone suggest any other media playeers that do not suffer from this problem?

Thank you for any help in advance,

Adrian

I have this problem too. My phone just updated to 4.1.1, and now WinAmp finds nothing to play. And my albums are on 2 SD cards (internal and external). How does one get it to rescan?

Figured out how to set home folder

Sorry for opening up an old (semi-old topic) First time posting in any kind of forum.
But I figured out how to do it. Most people probably got it already but i'm just posting as an fyi

How To Do It: When you hit the options button or whichever one you have to get to the menu that says "Browse by folder" or "Folders", navigate to the folder you want as your home, don't open it but instead press down on it to open the little menu and there should be one choice that says "Set Home" aaaaaannnnd you're done!
Voila! Easy as that! I was surprised at how long i spent looking for that option and how easy it was to do it.

Enjoy!

Why no answer from WinAmp?

Why doesn't WinAmp read these forums and answer us!

This feature is like selection a particular folder for playing your library in winamp, but unfortunately winamp doesn't have this feature, to skip this problem you can sync your winamp for PC library.

Tricking Winamp into not screwing up your phone's other media

How I was able to do this:
  1. Decide on a drive letter you would like to have permanently assigned for music synchronization. I opted for M: for "Music".
  2. Connect Android device. Note the drive letter and directory you want to use for music. In my case, it was G:\Music.
  3. Open a cmd window (not as an administrator--just as your regular user)
  4. Type:
    code:
    subst M: G:\Music
  5. Re-Discover devices from Winamp
  6. When prompted, say that yes you do want Winamp to manage M: as a portable device
