no create authhash link
I've run an icecast station for a long time, but decided to switch over to shoutcast recently. I've gotten pretty far setting things up, but now it's time to set up the authhash, and there's no link on my admin page.
I'm browsing to http://127.0.0.1:8001/admin.cgi and I see this: ![]() SHOUTcast Server Version is: 0.2.0.0 0.0.7.0/win32 I'm using Windows 7, Winamp, & the Shoutcast DSP plugin I've confirmed that I can browse outside the LAN to http://myip/8001/admin.cgi & get the same page, but can't get sound so far. My port forwarding is set properly to 8001 & I've tested it with my ISP. Also I've checked the permissions on my windows folders & knocked out whatever local firewalls I could find. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? Thanks for your time. -Weirdo Records Thanks very much, Angela Sawyer www.weirdorecords.com |

the issue is you're using a build of the v2 DNAS which is a) a beta (the first one in-fact) and b) doesn't support creating authhashes from with in it. you need to ensure you're using the current version of the v2 DNAS.

no, 1.9.5 is even older and definitely not supported around here (any v1 DNAS is effectively not supported on here anymore).
if using a v2 DNAS you need to use the build from http://www.shoutcast.com/broadcast-tools or http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=324877 (sticky at the top of this forum) i.e. a non-beta build as you've otherwise got installed. [edit] just seen the extra post after i'd replied. yes, that build. just ensure you have streamid=1 in your configuration file and if using the sc_serv_simple.conf config file to remove the streampath=/test.aac entry. -daz |

Okay, I got the proper build, created an authhash, & am now listed on Shoutcast as a station. However, I can't hear anything when I browse outside the LAN. I just get buffering for a while, and then the connection is lost. I'm setup for 96 bitrate & mp3s. Could this be a problem with winamp?

hard to say what the problem is as would really need a link to the stream to be able to try it & check what's reported.
