hey i was lookin at the source images of matra II compendum to see how the artist did the volume and balance buttons. n e way when i was lookin at it i discovered that the artist didn't draw buttons at all it just ends after the last frame. can the artist of this skin or someone else please explain that to me and how he or she figured out that u don't need buttons for the thing to work. cuz winamp never mentioned that in their skinning help thing.

If you look at the default skin in winamp, you'll see that the volume and balance slider changes colour as the slider is increased or decreased. You'll also see a grey slider button on each slider, indicating the position. However, if you leave the buttons out of the bitmap and save it as part of the skin, the control will still work, and the slider will change colour. The only difference will be that the grey button won't be present. This effect is used in many skins where the skinner doesn't want the button present.
