Winamp freezing when selecting "Select plugsins"
Hey all,
I just installed the Black and White plugin (the one that has the dancing bear), and after that - whenever I choose Options, Visualizations, and select plugins -winamp freezes and I have to close out of it. Any thoughts? |

Exactly which plug-in is that (can you provide a link)? How old is it? Is it the most recent version? What versions of Windows and Winamp are you using?
The plug-in is probably not compatible with the version of Windows and/or Winamp that you are using. There may be work-a-rounds, need more details. Windows 10 Home 64-bit v21H2 desktop - Logitech Z906 5.1 speaker system |

That plug-in was released when XP was the existing Windows version and since Winamp 5.63 is not fully compatible with Windows 8, I don't think that you can get it to work.
It probably has more to do with the changes Microsoft made to the Windows display architecture since XP, than anything in Winamp. I suggest you read the 1st user review comments. I assume your graphics driver is up to date. You can try running Winamp in one of the XP compatibility modes, but even if it works, I do not recommend that for normal use because it could cause other problems. The current version of Winamp appears to be a native Vista app to the OS. Windows 10 Home 64-bit v21H2 desktop - Logitech Z906 5.1 speaker system |
