URL .pls files not working as playlists

I've got all of di.fm's playlist files, which are .pls format, saved on my PC. Using Windows 7 and Winamp 5, they open up just fine and play the various streams.

However, when I copied all the .pls files to my android tablet and saved them in the playlists folder, while I am able to see them and open them in Winamp for Android, it does not play, and if I select 'enque' it says 0 songs added to queue.

If I open the shoutcast section and manually enter one of the URLs, it will play. So the URL is not the issue.

each .pls file contains several URLs of streams. Does anyone know how to fix this?
