try this annoying workaround
yeah, .CDA files seem to have this problem for me too, using winamp version 2.73.
I have WinNT 4, dell latitude laptop, P3. What I have to do is unplug my earphobnes and plug them back in at the beginning of each song on a cd of .cda files. i'm gonna try upgrading to the newest version to see if it's fixed. |

Earphones? Huh?
![]() 1. Make sure the volume slider in the main winamp window is up high enough 2. Windows Volume Control Make sure "CD Audio" is selected under Playback (if not, goto: Options -> Properties: select it under both Playback & Recording) Playback Controls: make sure Audio CD is not muted & level is up high enough. Recording Controls: make sure "select" is checkmarked & level is up high enough. Any further problems: Winamp Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Input -> CD Plugin -> config Uncheck "sample input from soundcard" (disables Spectrum Analyzer with CD's) Still no joy? CDReader plugin (be sure to read the instructions on how to enable it) |
