I have searched the forum for quite some time now, and could not find any report of such issue like the one I'm experiencing, so I got up here and decided to open a new thread. If that kind of issue is already being addressed on some other thread, I apologize.
Now, to the problem at hand: Today I've bought Winamp Pro on my Android phone, only to discover that the EQ and ReplayGain (apparently) only works with MP3 and WAV files. I tried playing several file types to no avail. Now, some specifics:
Has anyone faced such issue? Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance! |

issue maybe
have you run the file through the replay gain analyzer within winamp for windows if you do not analyze the files replay gain really will not work the way you want it to as for equalizer the variations will be subtle for most on board speakers probably will hear more change in using headphones thanks rob (c)rob 2013 (picture & SN) (please note) As users we can't give others help unless we get full details of the problem that you are having |

support is limited to only a few formats as has been found and is a current limitation of the decoders vs system resources. am pretty sure this is covered in the official help pages.

Thanks for your time, guys. But no, robdog, I never listen to my songs using my phone's internal speaker, only earphones/headphones, so the possibility of being some king of distortion imposed by the low-quality speakers have to be ruled out. I forgot to mention, but all my song files have replay gain info stored on their tags, and Winamp for Windows recognizes the tags and adjusts the volume accordingly.
Nevertheless, as DrO mentioned, it seems to be some kind of decoder limitation for I have transcoded all my tracks from AAC to MPEG Layer-3, and now my Winamp for Android is able to apply my equalizer and replay gain settings accordingly. But, contrary to what you've said, DrO, I haven't been able to find any kind of mention of this limitation on WA for Android's documentation. Anyway, I really appreciate your help. I've had to transcode almost 15GB of tracks to MP3, but it was worth the effort. I just wish the Winamp staff could be more careful with the documentation, as there are people who could get really upset because of this lack of warning. (Also, I apologize for my poor english. It's not my primary language...) |
