Well I've used programs such as skinner and (er, cant remember the name) to help me out w/buttons and basics and whatnot, and use graphic programs (fireworks and PS) to make skins.
However, I'm always told "duh, don't forget to skin the MB and AVS" (like anybody does...i hate that!). Ahem, anyway, i've been using the "templates" found at Nullsoft where they have the skin tutorial. However there is no template for the MB and AVS, which I obviously need to start skinning. Does anybody have any kinda templates of such, or a good site that carries this kinda thing? Or is there an easier method? Any help will be appreciated, thanks a bunch! ![]() ...also what exactly IS the AVS? ^.^ heehee |

You may hate them, but you got to skin them for any hope of world domination....

aw...world domination? Does this horror never end?! Heehee..Well that's exactly what I've been using (guess I've overlooked the MB, heh). This leads to my next question that I forgot to ask: For those base skins, has anybody ever created a base skin of pl or mb that actually look how they appear in winamp, and not all split up? |

I think he means a pledit.bmp thats not divided into different sections. Something like the main.bmp or eqmain.bmp.

It's divided into sections to allow resizing of the window. All of the resizable ones are (mb, avs, pledit)
also: AVS = "Audio Visual System" I'm guessing. Anyone know if I'm right or wrong? |

Yeah...
AVS stands for "Advanced Visualization System".

[nitpicking] The 's' stands for 'Studio' [/nitpicking]
canuritme: I've recently come across this page which covers skinning for beginners and experts, explaining the various parts. I've found its template files quite useful since I tend to start with a 275 x 464 px file where I draw everything out. I then feed it through a skinner before I customise the separate BMPs. Don't know if that's what you mean but hope it helps anyway. Support your local team |
