Okay, so I'm a bit of a MP3 streaming audio addict. I've compiled a fairly large list of URLs that stream MP3 audio (a.k.a. Shoutcast and Icecast stations); however, I often jump between 5 or 6 on a daily basis. I'm getting tired of clicking in the upper left corner -- Bookmarks -- selecting station. I would love to have a present URL panel (10 buttons of quick jump streaming URLs). Unfortunately, this option doesn't appear to be available in WinAmp. Is that correct, or have I missed the setting? If I'm correct, does anyone know of an available plug-in that offers this functionality? I've searched with no luck. Finally, if this feature isn't in the product, and there's no existing plug-in, where's the best place to go and make a formal feature request?

Thanks in Advance

There is a plugin that does such a thing for Shoutcast (not for Icecast though)... it's called ShoutAmp. It bookmarks/finds shoutcast stations without a browser and without any m3u/pls files.

P.S. I'm a bit of an MP3 streaming audio addict too.

Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the plug-in this morning; however, it's not exactly what I was looking for. I was hoping to find something that simulates preset buttons you find on a car radio. I am, however, using ShoutAmp right now, and enjoying the experience -- It is a vast improvement over the previous method of jumping from station to station. Unfortunately, UI is a bit big and fonts kind of ugly. Any plans to improve UI and maybe add a few "favorites" buttons? 8-)

Thanks again for the suggestion ShoutAmp really has made things easier.

Hey TerbMeister,

Do a Search for your favorite stations by their names, then add those stations to your Favorites. Both Search & Favorites are sort of hidden away at the bottom of the Genre menu (see pic below at left). Also, after you've added your favorites you can shrink down the UI to be the same size as Winamp. Just right click on either the system tray icon or the UI and you should see a "Toggle Size (1x/2x)" menu item. Click it and you should be all set.

BTW, you can also disable ShoutAmp when you aren't using it by either using Winamp's main menu (see pic below) or by using the Alt+<letter> key combination (on same menu as Toggle Size) that you have set (the default is Alt+C). This will also get rid of the system tray icon.
