If you have problems with a Winamp install (and it does happen), then uninstall it and delete the program folder. Sometimes things break in upgrades, but I think Winamp has pretty good quality control. Most of the stuff you ranted as broken works fine for me.

You may just hate Winamp. I think it's pretty cool.
