Hey thanks for the tip DJ Egg.......but it seems i am still having a few problems with it. The equalizer still does not function but yet I am able to veiw a few plugins play to the beat of my cds. For example, the Oscilliscope seems to work properly....but the spectrum anaylzer still has a few problems in it. I prefer that effect more than the big "O" effect. I have not upgraded since Jan...but everything was in working order up until about a week ago. Any more advice u have to share would greatly be appreciated. If you'd like to talk in person let me know and I can send u my yahoo ID. It might make this alot easier. Thanks

I've come across this problem myself. Before you get too excited try checking your sound card inputs and outputs and mixer controls. In particular make sure that you have a signal on the CD source and it is set as your record channel.
The problem for me arose because I keep the record source set to 'output mix' This is usually O.K. because it just reflects the 'CD' input, but if I use headphones connected to the rear speaker output then it would seem that the output mix is used to drive them and there is no signal available to record.
