not impossible, just tricky but that's the case for anything trying to re-use things not intended to be run in a different program from what it was designed to be used with

as most of it would require re-implementing a number API methods used by the Source DSP natively in it to allow it to work outside of Winamp sans the limitations in newer 5.5+ API. so if i was really bored i could do it but that's then helping companies who cannot be bothered to do things correctly (and legally).

sorry again for the O/T

to be honest, I don't think edcast will solve the issue either - because I suspect the issue is how OtsAV uses the dsp plugin API

but, I have another thought ... are there buffer size settings in Shoutcast DNAS 2? one thing I noticed with my flash app was that the buffer level when playing the above stream was about a quarter of the size of other DNAS servers I've listened to

So I did

Download the "beta" edcast_winamp ... yeah, it says beta, but I have been using it for over 2 years ... just too lazy to update my site

there are and depending on the build being used will determine the default setting being used. as v2.0 was using a fixed buffer size whereas v2.2.x is using an adaptive size (~5seconds by default) which from testing was a decent compromise between the lag in the system and keeping the stream good. but is all documented in the network config options in the docs provided with the DNAS.
