there are and depending on the build being used will determine the default setting being used. as v2.0 was using a fixed buffer size whereas v2.2.x is using an adaptive size (~5seconds by default) which from testing was a decent compromise between the lag in the system and keeping the stream good. but is all documented in the network config options in the docs provided with the DNAS.

update the wiki!!! it says 1 second for adaptive

(kidding, I'm sure the docs included with DNAS are up to date)
