using USB Mic for Live PBP broadcast but all audio files going back through headset?

I have a high school live sports play-by-play program we are trying to get afloat. Our audio for the play by play and color commentator is fine but when we try to replay hi-lites and any recorded audio file the sound goes back through to my headset (in short only I can hear it!) and not back out through the winamp broadcast. I am sure this is some sort of settings issue but we need this fixed asap. Compressing files etc.. have no effect as the audio does NOT go to the broadcast at all it simply travkes back to my ears only....aaaaggghhh!!
