using USB Mic for Live PBP broadcast but all audio files going back through headset?

I am doing a live sports play-by-play broadcast and want to "replay" audio hi-lites and saved mp3 interview files etc.after the game (things like intro music too). However, when doing our live broadcast, we cannot get any audio files to be heard because the sound keeps going back through the earphones of the headset and not out to the listeners. This seems to be a likely settings issue but have no idea what to do.. Toshiba laptop with windows 7.

Scenario: Live post-game recap...then, cue up a "play" saved mp3 file of earlier hi-lite.The "play" on the winamp goes back into my earphones but never gets out to the listeners?
