Features for talking books

Hi
I use my galaxy S4 mostly for listening to talking books and podcasts that I download as MP3.
I do this because mostly I listen while driving or cycling, and I live in a small country town, and often I am out of range of a cell tower.

I would like to see several features which do not seem to exist.
My books appear as albums, but there does not seem to be a simple mechanism to return to the last point and continue listening. One book I am currently listening to has 81 half hour segments.

I often switch between listening to a book, and listening to an analysis of that book by one or more others, and making my own notes.

If it was possible to store information in each folder that kept track of current position, as well as any gaps in listening, or jumps out of sequence.

If it is also possible to sort the albums (books) by most recently accessed, so that I can switch between the few books I am currently working with easily.

A button to record in a text file "points of interest" would be great.
If I could attach voice notes to those points of interests somehow it would be great.

Currently I start winAmp and find my position, then start Voice recorder, and have it on top. As soon as I start recording with it, it stops winamp, which is great. When I finish recordind with Voice recorder and exit the list of notes, then winamp restarts, so that is workable. And it would be more convenient to have a direct link in a text file to the exact position in the book or file I am listening to at which I started recording.

There must be other people out there like me, who rarely listen to music, yet use the otherwise dead time of driving or exercising to keep up with intellectual pursuits.
