i just started skinning today. i have to get more software before i can post my skins on winamp. i bet everyone will be happy to know i'm practicing before i put up any skins. that way only my best stuff goes up and peeps don't have to put up with ugly skins that should be thrown into the recycle bin. anyway, if ya'll have any suggestions for me on what i can do to make my skins the best they can be, or any .bmp, .jpg, or .jpeg images u'd like to share with me, please e mail me at SaiyanChick85@aol.com. thanx.

look a new person, or is he new? Well anyway I've never seen him here b4 so its time for a bojanglez welcome.

There is this program called ToplessGrannies, you can download it at my site, link in da sig. Its pretty good as a skin tutorial, comes with a template also. Alrighty wahat else as for skinning you don't need anything that isn't already on your computer. Heck I got a few thousand downloads with a paint skin, then again i've made 2 skins for wa2 so i dunno.

A good place to practice is deviantart, you can post previews of skins there without them getting cranky and they give some good feedback usually. So you can try out a few ideas and submit them there and see what they have to say. Most people use something like photoshop or paint shop pro to make skins, or they use something that macromedia made.

LOL... Glad you're practicing. Welcome, first off. Secondly, I agree that deviantART is a pretty good place to check out, at http://www.deviantart.com/. There's a great tutorial at http://members.nbci.com/WSDskins/, if you have any questions about how to create the skin files. Otherwise, my only suggestion would be to take your time... Most people can't create a top-notch skin in a day, or two days, or sometimes even a week or a month... Just enjoy yourself and make the best skin you can!

You could also d/l a template to help you see how the different BMPs fit together.

Since you're into manga take comfort from the fact that any anime skin you do will be better than 99% of the ones out there!

ello. i'm new too, but i have to agree that Deviantart is definately a great place to get feedback. except for the few who emphasise symmetry [i dont really like symmetry at all very much], they give some pretty constructive criticism.
