New server - streaming questions

I'm sure this has been asked before but I am struggling to find the answer via search.

We are going to be setting up a Shoutcast server with around 20 DJ's who will stream at what ever time they want. However while nobody is streaming I'd like to be able to play a MP3 music / adverts etc.

I know you could do this before but I can not find any option config wise.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Sounds like you are new to this. So the easiest solution (if you are not a computer guy) is to find a shoutcast hosting company that offeres centovacast or whmsonic to get started.

Thats the easiest solution.

Hey very new to shoutcast

I've not gone with a hosting company as I already have the resource available and have physical access to it if anything explodes

i've already setup shoutcast on one of my dedicated linux servers that bit was easy its just playing music while the stream (no DJ is connected) i'm having problems with.

ive just installed the trial of centovacast but its not really what I need the management side of it again is fairly straight forward.

maybe I just looking in the wrong places for this feature?

it sounds like you're looking for the no longer available sc_trans

what's confusing (to me at least) is the phrase ... "i've already setup shoutcast on one of my dedicated linux servers that bit was easy its just playing music" ... I did not know DNAS could stream music all by itself with no source client connected

you need an autodj solution to achieve what you want to do.

use liquid soap OR search google for sc_trans.

You can also use (buy) whmsonic or centovacast.
