To use a low bitrate you must set the bitrate of ther server configuration to the needed value. The DNAS will encode the existent audio files with a higher bitrate to the lower bitrate of the server. It works also in the other direction but please note: the stream-quality would always sound worse than if you upload the audio files directly on the required bitrate. In a perfect world you should upload the files with the same bitrate as your server is configured.
