Shoutcast setup

I've currently working on setting up a shoutcast server of my own. I have everything installed and for the most part configured however when i connect to my stream to listen, i have no audio. I'm using the latest version of winamp, it shows what song is playing but, there again, no audio. Any insight on what could be the problem? I was directed to another place and asked then was told it is an encoder issue which i guess makes sense.
